LOGAN, Utah – Former Utah State quarterback Jordan Love recorded the fifth-highest Wonderlic score among college quarterbacks who took the test prior to the 2020 NFL Draft, according to Bob McGinn of The Athletic.

McGinn reported that Love scored 27 on the Wonderlic Contemporary Cognitive Ability Test.

The former Aggies quarterback tested better than seven other quarterbacks including Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama) and Justin Herbert (Oregon), who like Love, are projected to be selected in either the first or second round of April’s Draft.

2020 Quarterback Wonderlic Scores

Here are the Wonderlic scores of the college quarterback prospects tested:

  1. Nate Stanley (Iowa): 40
  2. Jake Fromm (Georgia): 35
  3. Joe Burrow (LSU): 34
  4. Jake Luton (Oregon State): 29
  5. Jordan Love (Utah State): 27
  6. Justin Herbert (Oregon): 25
  7. Anthony Gordon (Washington State): 25
  8. Brian Lewerke (Michigan State): 25

What Is The Wonderlic Test?

As explained by Wikipedia, the Wonderlic test “is a popular assessment used to measure the cognitive ability and problem-solving aptitude of prospective employees for a range of occupations. It is a proprietary assessment created and distributed by Wonderlic. The assessment is available in 12 different languages and is often used in all types of employment hiring from entry level to executive level.”

The test is comprised of 50 multiple-choice questions. Each question is worth one point towards the total score. Test-takers are given 12 minutes to complete the test.

“A score of 20 is intended to indicate average intelligence,” according to Wikipedia.

The assessment was initially developed by Eldon F. Wonderlic at Northwestern University.

2020 NFL Draft

Love is one of 58 players that will participate virtually in April’s Draft.

The 2020 NFL Draft is scheduled to take place from April 23-25.
