SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – At least seven NFL teams are currently doing “serious homework” on former Utah State quarterback Jordan Love.
Former Utah State and current Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler that he has talked about Love with seven NFL head coaches in the past week.
Wells recruited Love to Utah State and coached the QB for three years in Logan.
“I think they are just trying to put the complete story together on him,” Wells told Fowler.

According to ESPN sources the Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Chargers, Green Bay Packers, Washington Redskins, as well as other teams, are “doing varying levels of homework on Love.”
LSU’s Joe Burrow, Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa, Oregon’s Justin Herbert, and Love, are expected to be among the first quarterback selected in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Last season as a junior, Love threw for 3,402 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions.
NFL teams are weighing his 2019 resume against his stellar sophomore season.
In 2018, Love threw for 3,567 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. He was named the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year after his sophomore season.
In three seasons as the starting quarterback for Utah State, Love threw for 8,283 yards, 57 touchdowns, and 28 interceptions.
Fowler stated that Wells told him that Love’s “major arm talent should translate well to the NFL because of his ability to throw on the run and with a quick release.”
The NFL Draft is scheduled to take place virtually from April 23-25.
