“It is interesting, but I’m going to be honest, I want to be a priority for a team and I feel I have to go where someone is going to make me a priority,” Van Noy told NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
After getting traded by the Detroit Lions in 2016, Van Noy helped the Patriots to a title in Super Bowl LI. The former Cougar linebacker recorded 1 tackle, 0.5 sacks, and a quarterback hit in the Pats historic comeback to defeat the Atlanta Falcons 34-28.

“I’m sure New England knows that. If that opportunity comes, it comes,” continued Van Noy. “I’ll be frank, I don’t see myself waiting around. I’m pretty sure those guys aren’t going to wait around either. They’re really good at their craft. They’re at the top of the league at their position so it’ll be interesting.”
This past season, the former BYU linebacker recorded 41 solo tackles, 6.5 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles. He helped the Patriots to a 12-4 record and an AFC East title.
Van Noy played for BYU from 2010-13. He was selected with the 40th overall pick by the Lions in the 2014 NFL Draft.
The league’s legal tampering period began on Monday, March 16. NFL Free Agency officially kicks off on Wednesday, March 18 at 2 p.m. (MDT).
