Reports: QB Tom Brady Operating Under ‘Intention Of Departing’ Patriots

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is reportedly “evaluating the NFL landscape with the intention of departing” the team he’s called home since 2000.
According to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, Brady is “currently under the belief that he will enter free agency to play somewhere other than New England next season.”
Brady officially enters free agency when the new NFL league year begins on March 18 at 2 p.m. (MDT). Teams can start negotiations with Brady on March 16.

The quarterback was selected out of Michigan by the Patriots with the 199th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft.
Since then, Brady has played 20 seasons for New England and led the franchise to six Super Bowl championship, most recently Super Bowl LIII in 2019. He has more Super Bowl rings than any player in NFL history.
Brady is a four-time Super Bowl MVP, three-time NFL MVP, 14-time Pro Bowl honoree, and three-time first-team All-Pro quarterback. He’s been the NFL’s leader in passer rating, passing yards, and passing touchdowns in multiple seasons.

He is one of four quarterbacks in NFL history to throw for more than 70,000 yards.
Last season, Brady led the Pats to a 12-4 record, an AFC East title, and first-round postseason exit to the Tennessee Titans. In 2019, the quarterback threw for 4,057 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions.

The Patriots QB turns 43 years old in August.
