Legacy Recruit Preston Rex Signs With BYU On National Signing Day

PROVO, Utah – National Signing Day is upon us and the BYU Cougars are looking to finish strong with a solid class that continues to show progress in Kalani Sitake’s program. One of the more intriguing additions to the 2020 class is versatile athlete Preston Rex who comes from a legacy family.

Versatile playmaker during his senior year at San Clemente High School, Preston Rex can play at wide receiver or safety, but at BYU he will begin his career as a safety. The son to former BYU All-American tight end Byron Rex and younger brother to current BYU tight end Isaac Rex. Preston will serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before enrolling at BYU. Along with being recruited by BYU, Rex received a lot of interest from in-state rival Utah State.
