SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Baseball fans eager for the Salt Lake Bees’ home opener will have to wait one more day.

Due to inclement weather at Smith’s Ballpark, the Bees’ first game at home has been rescheduled from Tuesday night to Wednesday afternoon. The Bees will play a double-header against the Fresno Grizzlies, starting Wednesday at 4:35 p.m.

The two seven-inning games will have a half hour break in between contests.

It’s the first time that the Bees have been rained out on opening night since 2011.

The Bees began their season on the road and have racked up a 1-4 record so far this year.

Salt Lake’s roster boasts former Bingham High and BYU star Brennon Lund, who hit his first home run at the Triple-A level in a 9-4 loss to Albuquerque on Monday.

This season, the Bees are celebrating their 25th season in Salt Lake and will have a variety of promotions and festivities to celebrate the occasion all season long.
