LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Real Salt Lake striker Damir Kreilach put his team up 1-0 in the first half with a slick penalty kick goal.
Following a penalty in the box by LAFC’s Latif Blessing on RSL’s Sebastian Saucedo, Kreilach was given the opportunity to give the visiting team the opening lead. He buried it, low right side as LAFC goalkeeper Tyler Miller guessed the other way.
It was the first goal of the season for Kreilach.

It was fitting that Kreilach would have a goal in LAFC’s Banc of California Stadium. In last season’s playoff game against LAFC, Kreilach scored on an incredible crane-kick style goal to help boost RSL to a 3-2 knockout round victory.

Getting the early goal was key for RSL, who was playing with a severely depleted roster against LAFC. Several RSL players were out for various reason, including Corey Baird, Sam Johnson and Albert Rusnak, who were away on international duty.
RSL games are available to be streamed on KSLSports.com or the KSL TV app.
