Favors Delivers Huge Performance In Jazz Win Over Milwaukee

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – While Donovan Mitchell had a terrific, career-high type of night for the Utah Jazz in a big win over the Milwaukee Bucks, Derrick Favors was also a key contributor to the victory.
In fact, the first two words out of Jazz head coach Quin Snyder’s mouth in his postgame presser were “Derrick Favors.”
Gathering his thoughts, Snyder continued to heap praises on his big man.
“Derrick Favors had a beyond outstanding effort tonight,” said Snyder.

Favors finished with a 23-point, 18-rebound double-double. The 18 rebounds tied a career high for the former Georgia Tech draft pick.
In scoring his 23 points, Favors was the model of efficacy, shooting 10-for-12 from the field.
His five offensive rebounds, including three in the fourth quarter, were key in keeping the ball in Utah’s hands down the stretch in addition to having three game-changing blocks.
He also had the play of a night, a huge dunk over Milwaukee’s Ersan Ilyasova that was a highlight in a major Jazz run.

It was the perfect night for Favors to break out and have one of the best games of his career. Rudy Gobert had what Snyder called “a bad night, statically.” The reigning Defensive Player of the Year was held in check throughout the game, scoring only five points and grabbing just nine rebounds.

Despite not performing well in the big win, Snyder gave Gobert credit for being a good teammate and cheering on his frontcourt partner.
With the win the Jazz have now won four games in row, with huge back-to-back wins over the one of the top teams in the Western Conference, the Denver Nuggets and the class of the Eastern Conference, the Bucks.
The Jazz will remain at home to host the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday. The game will tip off at 7 p.m.
