Browns LB Sione Takitaki Snags Second Career Interception

SALT LAKE CITY – Former BYU Cougars and current Cleveland Browns linebacker Sione Takitaki picked off a pass by the Arizona Cardinals for his second career interception.
The Browns hosted the Cardinals at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Ohio on Sunday, November 5.

With 2:21 remaining in the third quarter, Cardinals quarterback Clayton Tune was intercepted by Takitaki. The former BYU standout returned the ball to the Cleveland 24-yard line. At the time of Takitaki’s pick, the Browns owned a 20-0 lead.
It was Takitaki’s first interception of the season and the second of his career.
Unfortunately for the Browns, Takitaki’s takeaway didn’t result in any points after a missed field goal by Dustin Hopkins.

Early in the fourth quarter, Takitaki had three total tackles, two solo tackles, and one pass breakup.
Takitaki entered the game with 12 total tackles, nine solo tackles, and two sacks this season.
Cleveland’s game against Arizona is broadcast on CBS and NFL Sunday Ticket.
About Sione Takitaki
Prior to this NFL career, Takitaki was a standout linebacker at BYU. He finished his senior campaign with 119 tackles, 75 solo tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and four sacks.
Following his college career, the Browns selected Takitaki with the No. 80 overall pick during the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
“They felt like that me wanting to play in the NFL that they wanted to put me back at linebacker,” Takitaki said after getting drafted by the Browns. “That defensive end spot was great for me too. It helped me out for all of these teams [scouting him] and the Browns definitely took a look at that to show them my versatility.”

Before tearing his ACL last season, Takitaki recorded 71 total tackles, 36 solo tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble in 2022.
