Utah Jumps Up Latest AP Top 25 Poll After Trouncing ASU

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah bounced back in a big way Saturday afternoon resulting in a new position in the latest AP Top 25 after trouncing ASU.
The Utes feel like they are back on track after suffering their own trouncing by Oregon the week before. All week the message in-house for Utah was to not let the Ducks beat them twice, mission accomplished, 55-6, against an ASU team that has had other good teams on the ropes in 2023.
It’s no secret the Utes are very beat up and have had to be creative to reach their now 7-2 record for the 2023 season. It’s been an impressive feat that isn’t quite finished as Utah has a huge opportunity ahead of them on the road this week against Washington.

Where Does Utah Rank In The AP Top 25?
Utah started the season at No. 14, moving up to No. 12 in weeks two and three then climbing up to No. 11, and finally No. 10 before hitting a setback against Oregon State that dropped them to No. 18.
Utah’s position improved to No. 16 without playing in Week 6 and jumped once more after their game against Cal to No. 14.
The Utes climbed one spot after taking down USC in the Coliseum to No. 13 but fell back to No. 18 after getting worked at home last weekend by the Ducks.
After a dominant and fairly well-rounded performance against ASU, Utah now jumped up to No. 13 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll.

The Utes are joined by four other conference-mates in the latest AP Top 25, Washington, Oregon, Oregon State and newcomer to the poll this week Arizona. Both USC and UCLA toppled out of the AP Top 25 after spending most of the season in it.
USC, UCLA, Washington, and Oregon will all be making their way to the Big Ten in 2024, while Utah and Colorado will make their way to the Big 12. Oregon State and Washington State are currently stuck in no-man’s land having launched a lawsuit against the conference in regard to the abrupt ending of the Pac-12.
