SALT LAKE CITY – Saturday night at the Staples Center, Salt Lake City native, and current Los Angeles Kings forward Trevor Lewis celebrated a remarkable career milestone by playing in his 900th NHL game, marking an impressive journey that has spanned over 16 years.
In a thrilling showdown against the Las Vegas Golden Knights, Lewis demonstrated his enduring dedication and commitment to the sport, and even scored a goal, his second of the season. The goal of course was a grinder’s goal, digging a rebound from in front of the net, like most of his 92 NHL goals.

Lewis, a veteran forward known for his hard work, defensive prowess, relentless penalty kill, and clutch playoff performances, has been a fan favorite since he first donned the Kings’ black and silver jersey in 2008.
His incredible journey includes two Stanley Cup championships with the Kings in 2012 and 2014.
“It means a lot just to be back where it all started and playing a milestone game with a Kings sweater on is pretty special,” Lewis said.
The 900-game milestone is an impressive feat for any player, let alone one known for his work in the gritty areas of the ice.
It’s a testament to Lewis’s physical conditioning, durability, and love for the game. His consistent effort on both ends of the ice has made him an invaluable asset for the Kings throughout his career.
“I think longevity is just work ethic and finding a role, and trying to be the best you can be at the role,” Lewis explained.
The game against the Las Vegas Golden Knights was a special one for Lewis. The Kings honored him with a pre-game ceremony, during which he was presented with a custom-made silver stick engraved with his career achievements.
The crowd, packed with loyal Kings fans, erupted in cheers as Lewis, with his characteristic humility, acknowledged their support.
As the puck dropped, Lewis’s teammates and opponents recognized the significance of the moment. Throughout the game, he displayed the same gritty determination and relentless work ethic that has defined his career.
