OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State Wildcats took on the Montana State Bobcats at home in the Dee Events Center on Thursday.

Both the Wildcats and the Bobcats last game was against the Northern Colorado Bears. The Wildcats got blown out and the Bobcats came out with a win.

Before the loss to Northern Colorado, WSU had won 7 of their last ten games.

First Half

The Wildcats leading scorer Dillon Jones opened up scoring for the night with a layup.

Both teams played excellent defense early on. The score was 7-6 after 6 minutes of play.

Dillon Jones kept his foot on the gas, leading WSU in points in the first half.

After going down 5+ points, Weber State mounted a comeback and tied the game at 21 with 5 minutes left in the half.

KJ Cunningham got a steal and went coast-to-coast for the and-one layup.

Jones took it to the rim and got fouled just before halftime to drop the lead to 5.

Montana State led at half, 39-34.

Second Half

After giving up a basket out of the break, the Wildcats answered with a mid-range jumpshot from Dillon Jones.

Zahir Porter stopped the bleeding for the Wildcats with a big three to prevent MSU from taking a double-digit lead.

KJ Cunningham left the game with an apparent ankle injury 4 minutes into the second half.

The Wildcats went on a run to re-tie the game at 47. Jones continued to attack the rim, getting high-quality looks in the paint.

Weber State continued to apply the pressure. They were up 51-47 halfway through the second half.

The 11-2 run grew to 22-4. Forcing turnovers fueled the Wildcat’s efficient offense.

WSU took their first double-digit lead of the game with just under 7 minutes left in regulation.

The Bobcats went on a 14-6 run with 2 minutes left to drop the lead to six, 69-63.

The late Montana State comeback fell just short. Weber State wins at home, 73-63.
