Weber State Falls In Blowout Loss On Road At Northern Colorado
SALT LAKE CITY – The Weber State men’s basketball team suffered a blowout loss on the road to the Northern Colorado Bears.
The Bears hosted the Wildcats at Bank of Colorado Arena in Greeley, Colorado on Monday, February 6.
Weber State lost to Northern Colorado, 88-54.

It was a rough game for the Wildcats from the opening tip-off. 1:50 into the game, Weber State scored its first points of the game on an Alex Tew layup. Tew’s field goal cut Northern Colorado’s lead to 3-2. It was the closest that the Wildcats would come to the Bears throughout the remainder of the contest.
By the end of the first half, the Bears had built their lead to double-digits. Northern Colorado went into the locker room at halftime with a 35-21 lead. Following the break, the Bears continued to dominate the game.

Northern Colorado took its offense to another level over the final 20 minutes of action. UNC outscored Weber State by 20 points in the second half and the Bears ran away with their eighth victory of the season.
Weber State finished the night shooting 34.5 percent overall and only 12.5 percent on three-pointers. Northern Colorado shot 61.1 percent from the floor, including 54.5 percent from downtown.
Only two Wildcats scored in double figures. Dillon Jones led Weber State with 13 points, nine rebounds, one assist, and a steal. Dyson Koehler added 10 points.
Four Bears scored 11 points or more. Riley Abercrombie led Northern Colorado with 21 points.
With the loss, the Wildcats dropped to a 12-12 record this season, including 7-4 in Big Sky Conference action.

Weber State’s next game is at home against the Montana State Bobcats on Thursday, February 9 at 7 p.m. (MDT). The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
