Bountiful Redhawks Announce Cancer Diagnosis Of Football Player

SALT LAKE CITY – The Bountiful High School football team announced the cancer diagnosis of offensive/defensive lineman Roman Groves.
The Redhawks shared the news via the team’s Twitter account on January 7.
“With permission from the family, we are reaching out to our football community. One of our family has battle off the field. Roman Groves has recently been diagnosed with cancer, and we are asking for prayers for him and his family,” Bountiful football posted.

Groves plays multiple positions for the Bountiful football team, including offensive line, defensive line, and long snapper.
According to Groves’ Twitter and Hudl profiles, he is a team captain for the Redhawks.
Last season, Groves helped the Redhawks to a 7-3 overall record, including 5-0 in Region 5 action. Bountiful’s season ended with a 35-25 loss to the eventual 5A state champion Orem Tigers.

Groves has helped Bountiful capture back-to-back Region 5 titles.
He is a member of the Redhawks’ 2023 class.
