Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier Finds End Zone, First 100-Yard Rushing Game In Week 15

SALT LAKE CITY – Former BYU Cougars and current Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier scored a touchdown and hit the 100-yard rushing mark in a game for the first time during Week 15 against the New Orleans Saints.
The Saints hosted the Falcons at the Caesars Superdome on Sunday, December 18.

With 10:46 to go in the third quarter, Allgeier ran across the goal line for a five-yard touchdown.
The score cut New Orleans’ lead to 14-10.

The touchdown capped an eight-play, 75-yard drive that took 4:14.
After the score, Allgeier had 10 carries for 107 yards and a touchdown. He also had one reception for a three-yard loss.
Allgeier entered Week 15 with 131 carries for 604 yards and a touchdown this season. He’d also recorded 10 catches for 87 yards and a touchdown. Allgeier’s first NFL touchdown came on a run against the Cincinnati Bengals on October 23. His scoring reception was against the Carolina Panthers on October 30.

The Falcons came into the contest with a 5-8 record, including 1-5 on the road.

About Tyler Allgeier
The Fontana, California native played for the Cougars from 2018-21. He played linebacker before switching to running back full-time ahead of the 2020 season.
During his time in Provo, Allgeier ran the ball 452 times for 2,899 yards and 36 touchdowns.

Allgeier set BYU’s single-season rushing record with 1,601 yards on the ground in 2021.
Following his standout career in Provo, the Falcons selected the former Cougar running back with the No. 151 overall pick during the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Allgeier was the 12th running back selected during the three-day event in Las Vegas, Nevada.
