Jets QB Zach Wilson Throws 40-Yard TD Pass On Perfect Drive Against Lions

SALT LAKE CITY – Former BYU and current New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson threw a 40-yard touchdown pass on a perfect drive against the Detroit Lions in Week 15.
The Jets hosted the Lions at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, December 18.
It was Wilson’s first start since November 20. He was benched and inactive for New York’s previous three games.

With 14:06 left in the first half, Wilson threw a 40-yard toss to C.J. Uzomah, who ran into the end zone for a touchdown.
The score tied the game at 7-7.

The Wilson-Uzomah connection capped a three-play, 78-yard drive that took only 1:09. On the drive, Wilson was 2/2 passing for 80 yards and a touchdown.
After the pass, Wilson was 4/6 passing for 94 yards and a touchdown. Wilson entered the game having thrown for 1,279 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions with a 55.6 percent completion rate this season.
The Jets came into Week 15 with a 7-6 record.

About Zach Wilson
The former BYU star underwent surgery in August after suffering a knee injury in New York’s preseason opener. He also suffered a knee injury last season as a rookie.
Without Wilson, the Jets opened the 2022 season with a 1-2 record. After returning, the Jets posted a 5-2 record with Wilson starting.
During Wilson’s rookie campaign last season, the former BYU standout missed four games because of a knee injury and threw for 2,334 yards, nine touchdowns, and 11 interceptions with a 55.6 completion rate.
Before his time in the NFL, the Corner Canyon High School product had a standout career at BYU. Wilson helped the Cougars to an 11-1 record during his final season in Provo.
