Dolphins DB Eric Rowe Forces Fumble During Win Over Houston Texans

SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah Utes and current Miami Dolphins safety Eric Rowe forced a fumble during his team’s Week 12 victory over the Houston Texans.
The Dolphins hosted the Texans at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on Sunday, November 27.
With 4:59 left in the second quarter, Texans quarterback Kyle Allen connected with Jordan Akins for seven yards before a couple of Dolphins, led by Rowe, laid down a massive hit. The collision forced a fumble.
Miami’s Xavien Howard scooped up the pigskin and returned it 16 yards for a touchdown.
Howard’s fumble recovery gave Miami a 27-0 lead.

Rowe and the Dolphins went on to win the game, 30-15.
Rowe finished the game with four total tackles, two solo tackles, and a forced fumble.
This season, the safety has posted 32 total tackles, 25 solo tackles, and one forced fumble.
With the victory, the Dolphins improved their record to 8-3 this season, including 5-1 at home.

Miami’s next game is on the road against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, December 4 at 2:05 p.m. (MDT) on FOX.
About Eric Rowe
Prior to his time in the NFL, Rowe was a standout player at the University of Utah from 2011-14.
During his college career, the Spring, Texas native recorded 253 total tackles, 153 solo tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, three interceptions, 37 pass breakups, and three fumble recoveries in 45 games.
Rowe was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles with the No. 47 overall pick during the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
After spending his rookie campaign with the Eagles, Rowe was traded by Philadelphia to the New England Patriots in 2016.
Rowe played for the Patriots from 2016-18. During his time in New England, Rowe helped the Patriots win a pair of Super Bowl championships.
In 2019, the safety signed a one-year deal to join the Dolphins. A year later, Rowe signed a multi-year contract extension to remain with Miami.

During his NFL career, Rowe has totaled 358 total tackles, 256 solo tackles, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, five interceptions, one touchdown, and 38 pass breakups in 95 games played.
