SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah State and current Los Angeles Rams linebacker Bobby Wagner hosted students for a venture capital and tech tour prior to Week 8 of the NFL season.

On October 25, the former Aggie hosted a group of high school student from Compton, South Central Los Angeles, and Watts.

Wagner, who has invested in different companies, sits on boards, and has invested in venture capital funds, according to TheRams.com, took the students on a tour of the Roc Nation agency before heading to SoFi Stadium, home of the Rams and Los Angeles Chargers.

“I feel like can use sports and entertainment to further do something that’s not just sports-related,” Wagner said to the students.

At Roc Nation, the students heard from venture firm executives. Following a lunch break, Wagner and the student went inside the Rams’ locker room for a presentation on tech from Google, Snap, and other tech companies.

“I knew I wanted to be in business, but I didn’t know that this was out there for me,” Wagner said. “And so it took me taking myself out of my comfort zone to find it. Even with this, my hope is that you guys get sparked and get inspired sooner than I got. I was about maybe 24 when I got inspired by something like this, so you guys are getting exposed to it at a way younger age. So I’m hoping you guys take away from it and then been able to take it, for sure.”
