Real Salt Lake Snubbed As Zero Players Make MLS All Star Roster

SALT LAKE CITY – Real Salt Lake will not have any representation at the 2022 MLS All-Star game scheduled to take place in Minnesota on August 10.
Unfortunately, despite boasting the third-best record in the Western Conference, not a single Real Salt Lake player was selected to the 26-player roster.
The voting breakdown is as follows:
12 players are selected via fans, media, and player votes.
12 players are selected via Adrian Heath, head coach of Minnesota United; the host of the 2022 MLS All-Star game.
2 players selected by Don Garber, the MLS Commissioner.

Real Salt Lake MLS All Star Snubs
The top players for Real Salt Lake included goalkeeper Zac MacMath, who is currently second in the league in saves and clean sheets. Justen Glad, who has played a pivotal role in helping RSL to 7 shutouts and 7 goals against in 2022. When not playing, Real Salt Lake is yet to win a game and has conceded 17 goals in 7 games. Pablo Ruiz is also unfortunate not to be selected to the 26-player roster following his breakout campaign in the center of the park. Ruiz has been influential controlling the speed and tempo of RSL games and has frequently played his teammates into goal scoring positions through his impressive accuracy on his passes.
Of the 26-players on the roster, only LAFC and New York City FC have three players on the roster. LA Galaxy, Seattle, FC Dallas, Philadelphia, Minnesota, and Nashville all have two players on the roster while eight clubs have one player on the roster. 12 clubs failed to have a player represent their club at this years MLS All-Star game.

Last year, Real Salt Lake’s 2022 captain Damir Kreilach became the first RSL player to be selected to the All-Star game since Nick Rimando in 2019 when Garber selected the legendary goalkeeper in his final MLS season.
