SALT LAKE CITY – Utah’s Tony Finau enters the final round of the Travelers Championship eight shots behind leader Xander Schauffele who finds himself one shot clear atop the leaderboard.
Two birdies and two bogeys had Finau making the turn at even-par and falling down the leaderboard. However, a stretch of four birdies between holes 14 and 17 gave Finau a lot of momentum entering the final round.
The shot of the day came on the par 3 11th hole when Finau hit his tee shot to four feet for a simple birdie putt that found the bottom of the cup.
Finau’s putter was firing throughout the third round. On the 16th hole, Finau buried a 30-foot putt, much to the delight of the watching gallery.
Sunday Pairings & Mcllroy Update
Finau will tee off on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. alongside Adam Svennson who also finds himself at nine-under-par and in a share of 15th.

Other notable golfers on the leaderboard include Patrick Cantlay who is one shot back of Schauffele at 16-under-par, Webb Simpson at 11-under, world number 1 Scottie Scheffler at 10-under, and Rory Mcllroy at six-under-par.
Mcllroy’s quadruple bogey on 12 yesterday followed by his double bogey on 14 was too much for the Northern Irishmen to overcome. On Saturday, Mcllroy shot a two-over-par 71 that included another double bogey on his second hole of the day.
