Former BYU Star Corbin Kaufusi Delivers Inspiring Top Gun Impression

SALT LAKE CITY – Top Gun: Maverick is the movie of the summer. Who doesn’t leave the movie theater after seeing Top Gun 2 ready to bust out some jean shorts and grow a Rooster mustache?
Well, Top Gun inspired at least one person. That’s former BYU defensive lineman and current USFL offensive tackle Corbin Kaufusi. Talk to me, Corbin.
Kaufusi, in his fourth year of professional football, shared a video of his process of going from a beard to a Miles Teller mustache. Let’s just say someone needs to get this man a call sign ASAP.

Alright, first off, the thought of a 6-foot-9, 325-pound Corbin Kaufusi in an F-14 is incredible. I just had to get that out of the way. Kaufusi terrorized opposing offenses when he was a defensive end at BYU. “The Enemy” would stand no chance against him.
Secondly, the Tarzan parents-style mustache wasn’t terrible. He could pull it off. But the Rooster mustache is elite. Dare I say that he took our breath away?
For those who have seen Top Gun: Maverick, the 2022 version of the volleyball scene from the original 80s film includes beach football this time. Perfect for Corbin, who recently showed his ability to catch in a USFL game last month for his Tampa Bay Bandits squad.
#TopGunMaverick lives up to the hype. What an awesome movie.
Great way to start the summer.

In his video, Kaufusi even gave his best Miles Teller impression on the beach playing some football.
Great work, Corbin.
Kaufusi will show off his glorious Top Gun mustache in the regular-season finale for the Tampa Bay Bandits in the inaugural USFL season this Saturday against the Birmingham Stallions at 2 p.m. (MDT).
