Miami Dolphins Sign Former Salem Hills Star Porter Gustin

SALT LAKE CITY – The Miami Dolphins announced that they’ve signed former Salem Hills High School standout and free agent linebacker Porter Gustin.
Miami shared the news on Wednesday, June 8.
The Dolphins didn’t specify contract details after signing the former Skyhawks star.
Gustin last played for the Cleveland Browns.

Last season, the Dolphins posted a 9-8 record and finished in third place in the AFC East. Miami narrowly missed earning a playoff berth.
Miami opens its 2022 schedule at home against the New England Patriots on Sunday, September 11.
About Porter Gustin
Following a standout career at Salem Hills High School, Gustin attended USC.
During his college career with the Trojans, the Elk Ridge, Utah native recorded 137 total tackles, 84 solo tackles, 33.0 tackles for loss, 21.0 sacks, five pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 37 games.
Coming out of high school, Gustin was a four-star prospect, according to 247Sports. The recruiting website rated him as the No. 2 player in the state of Utah and No. 41 overall in the country. Gustin had more than 30 offers from schools, including Utah and Utah State. He ultimately decided to join the Trojans and enrolled in 2015.
Following his time at USC, Gustin signed witht he New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2019. Later that year, Gustin joined the Browns after being waived by the Saints.

Gustin went on to play in Cleveland until 2021. During his three seasons with the Browns, the defender had 52 total tackles, 26 solo tackles, one sack, and two forced fumbles in 26 games. In one postseason (2020 season) with Cleveland, he added one one tackle, one interception, and one pass breakup in two games.

Last season, Gustin only appeared in six contests.
