PROVO, Utah – Another BYU football season is around the corner when the “gameday t-shirt” drops.

The gameday has become an annual tradition for Cougar fans since 2007. Every year, BYU releases a budget-friendly t-shirt that fans can purchase that is centered around that specific season.

The 2022 gameday shirt highlights BYU’s final season as an FBS Independent.

Where to buy the 2022 BYU Football gameday shirt

Available at the BYU Store and online at byustore.com, fans can purchase the 2022 shirt that features a football logo that reads, “The Final Tour.” On the back, says “2022 Independence Farewell Tour” with the entire schedule. The first time BYU’s schedule has appeared on one of the gameday shirts since 2008.

Over the past few years, fans have been able to purchase the gameday shirt in a variety of color options. This 2022 version is only available in royal blue. Like many things in the world today, the gameday shirt wasn’t immune to a price increase. The cost of the shirt is now up to $12.99 for adult and youth sizes. That’s a $2 jump from the 2021 version which cost $10.99.

The final year of Independence

BYU’s final Independent schedule includes five games against teams from Power Five conferences. After the 2022 season, BYU will join the Power Five ranks as a member of the Big 12 Conference.

Along with a new fan t-shirt, the BYU Store released a new 2022 football schedule magnet for $5.99 and a football helmet flag for $14.99.

BYU opens up the 2022 season on the road against the USF Bulls in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, September 3.
