Dalton, Sturgeon Miss Cut At Copper Rock Championship

SALT LAKE CITY – Kendra Dalton and Haley Sturgeon have both missed the cut at the Copper Rock Championship following the second round of play this afternoon.
Dalton, who graduated from Bringham Young University, struggled throughout the second round of the tournament as she managed to fire a six-over-par 78. Her round consisted of zero birdies and six bogeys. Similar to yesterday, Dalton’s struggles occurred on the front nine where she managed to make the turn at five over par. Only one of her six bogeys on the day came on the back nine.
Sturgeon, on the other hand, missed the cut due to her performance in the opening round and not the second round. Sturgeon shot one of the rounds of the day as she entered the clubhouse at four-over-par including bogeys on the final two closing holes. Her lone birdie of the day came on the short down-wind par 4 13th hole.

Dalton concluded her round at 11 over par while Sturgeon finished at 13 over. The cut was at eight-over par.
The two local ladies were not the only high-profile players to miss the cut. Reigning champion Bailey Tardy missed the cut by one shot as she finished at nine-over-par.
Currently, the top four golfers all hail from different corners of the globe. Emma Broze from France leads at three-under-par, she has a two-shot lead on the rest of the field. New Zealand native Amelia Garvey, Finnish professional Kiira Riihijarvi, and American Kim Kauffman share a tie of second at one under. The remaining player is either at one-over-par or worse.
Groupings and tee times ahead of the final round are yet to be released.
