SALT LAKE CITY – Epson Tour professional and former BYU women’s golf star Kendra Dalton is excited and optimistic about the upcoming challenge regarding the Copper Rock Championship.
A year ago, during the inaugural tournament in Hurricane, Utah, Dalton concluded in a tie for 45 but showed a great amount of composure and perseverance during torturous conditions that included three consecutive days of high wind gusts in the south of Utah.
This year, the weather is expected to play a smaller role as winds are expected to blow on Thursday while thunderstorms will be in the area on Friday.
The 2022 Epson Tour season began with two consecutive cuts missed for Dalton, much to her surprise. She has since managed two made cuts with the best finish of T19.
Despite her inconsistent start to the season, Dalton feels really good about where her game is.
During the offseason, Dalton made the transition from Dallas, Texas, to Phoenix, Arizona with the hope of improving her game.
“I’m really excited about being back and am hopeful that I will be able to improve on last year’s result,” Dalton told KSL Sports in an exclusive interview.
Furthermore, Dalton has been focusing a lot of attention on knowing how to play certain golf courses. She is continuing to grow and develop as a golfer and is determined to capitalize on the holes that allow her to score.
“It sounds really silly but I am really focusing on my ability to score and plot my way around golf courses in a smarter manner,” Dalton said.
Tee times and pairings are yet to be announced by the Epson Tour. KSL Sports is the presenting sponsor and will have world-class coverage of the event as it unfolds. For all the latest news and information regarding the tournament stay tuned to KSL Sports dot com. Tickets can be purchased here.
