JJ Overton Leads Weber State To Second Straight Win Over Idaho State

SALT LAKE CITY – JJ Overton and the Weber State men’s basketball team took down the Idaho State Bengals for the second consecutive contest.
The Wildcats hosted the Bengals on Thursday, January 20. It was the second of back-to-back games between the two schools. The Wildcats won the first meeting of the season on January 17.
Weber State blasted Idaho State, 95-63.

Overton led the Wildcats with a game-high 21 points on 10-14 shooting. He added five rebounds, three assists, and a steal in Weber State’s 32-point victory.

The Wildcats controlled the game through the night. Weber State won the first half, 48-33. Over the final 20 minutes of game time, the Wildcats outscored the Bengals by 17 points.
Weber State finished the night shooting 55.4 percent overall and 26.9 percent from beyond the arc. The Wildcats held the Bengals to only 40.6 percent shooting, including 25.9 percent from distance.

With the win, the Wildcats improved their record to 13-5 this season, including 6-1 in the Big Sky Conference.
Weber State’s next game is on the road against in-state rival Southern Utah on Monday, January 24 at 7 p.m. (MDT). The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
