Agent: Former Ute Bradlee Anae Signs With New York Jets
SALT LAKE CITY – Former University of Utah defensive lineman Bradlee Anae signed with the New York Jets, according to his agent David Canter.
Anae was previously with the Dallas Cowboys before being released. The Cowboys drafted Anae in the 2020 NFL Draft.
In two seasons with the Cowboys, Anae saw 56 defensive snaps and only two tackles.
Before being selected in the fifth round (pick #179) of the NFL Draft, Anae frightened opposing quarterbacks at the University of Utah, including Zach Wilson, his new teammate with the New York Jets.
This season the New York Jets went 4-13.
Bradlee Anae’s Collegiate Career
The Laie, Hawaii native had a very successful career at Utah. His freshman season in 2016, Anae played in six games and picked up two sacks.
Anae’s sophomore season in 2017 saw him play in 13 games with 10 starts. He racked up 7 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries.
In 2018, Anae led the Pac-12 with 8 sacks to go with his 15.5 tackles for loss in 14 starts. He was named first-team All-Pac-12.
Last season in 2019 as a senior, Anae exploded for 13 sacks and 14 tackles for loss which led to being named an All-American and first-team All-Pac-12.
Anae broke the school record for most career sacks with 30. He also won the Morris Trophy.
