San Juan Holds Off Beaver For 2A Football Championship

SALT LAKE CITY – The San Juan Broncos held off a second half comeback attempt by the Beaver Beavers to win the 2A state championship in high school football.
The Broncos and Beavers played at Weber State University’s Stewart Stadium on Saturday, November 13.
San Juan beat Beaver, 34-21.

The Broncos used a 26-point first half to propel their victory. San Juan held Beaver scoreless during the first two quarters of action and went into the locker room at halftime with a four-score advantage.
Beaver scored its first points of the game midway through the third quarter.
San Juan responded with another touchdown to extend its lead before the final quarter.
The Beavers held the Broncos scoreless and added a pair of scores during the final 12 minutes, but their deficit was too much to overcome.
Broncos quarterback Jace Palmer finished the game with four passing touchdowns. Palmer also added a touchdown on the ground.
Jersey Nieves, Cooper Black, and Keaton Ivins, each caught touchdown passes from Palmer.
Jayton Jessup led the Beavers with three passing touchdowns.
San Juan finished the season with a 12-1 record.
