SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz will honor active-duty military and veterans Wednesday and Thursday night during the NBA’s Hoops for Troops week.
The Jazz will host a special movie event on Wednesday and will honor members of the military on Thursday when the team hosts the Indiana Pacers on Veterans Day.
According to the team, Military appreciation will be the game-night theme, including a moment for members from each military branch to stand while their service song is played.
For 80 years, the USO has strengthened America's service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country.

Jazz players will be wearing team-branded Hoops for Troops warmups and have also donated tickets for local military members to attend the game.
Vivint, who is presenting Thursday’s event will also recognize its own veteran military employees with tickets to the game and a VIP reception that evening.
The National Anthem will be sung by Master Sergeant Seth Mayer with the honorary color guard presented by the Ogden U.S. Army Recruiting Station. Military members will be participating in game-night activities throughout the evening.
On Wednesday, a Jazz player will welcome roughly 100 military members prior to a private movie showing at the Gateway Megaplex.
The guests represent local military personnel from the COVID-19 task force in addition to those who have served recent deployments. Each individual will receive an NBA Hoops for Troops T-shirt, popcorn and drink, and enjoy the new movie “Eternals” from Marvel Studios.
Hoops for Troops is a year-round initiative led by the NBA, its teams, and league players in collaboration with the Department of Defense, USO, TAPS, and other military and veteran-serving organizations to honor active and retired service members and their families.
