No. 13 Syracuse Shuts Down Salem Hills To Keep Winning Streak Alive

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The 13th ranked Syracuse Titans improved to 4-0 and played well on both sides of the ball in their 21-3 win over Salem Hills.
Jake Hopkins, Brevin Hamblin and Daxton Faddis all ran in touchdowns to give Syracuse their fourth straight win and remain undefeated.

Here are all of the results in the 6A classification from the fourth week of the high school football season.
Region 1
Layton 24 @ Davis 21
Layton started the game with two unanswered touchdowns. First one was a pass from Garrett Gifford to Josh Taylor before Gifford ran in the second TD. Davis responded with Easton Baggett finding Maxwell Painter and Trey Talbot running in a score to tie the game. Midway through the fourth quarter, Gifford found Elias Parkinson for a touchdown. The Darts answered when Jackson Stevens threw a touchdown to Ty Hoagland. With five seconds left in the game, Porter Hansen kicked the game-winning field goal for the Lancers. Gifford finished with two passing and one rushing touchdown.
Farmington 35 @ No. 10 Weber 38
The game was tied at 21 through the first half and leveled at 28 heading into the fourth quarter. Weber made a field goal to take a three-point lead. Boston Reinhold gave the lead back to Farmington with a touchdown run. Utah Utes commit and Weber standout Aisea Moa ran in a two-yard TD with 2:31 left to put the Warriors ahead for good. Jake Lindsay threw for two touchdowns, both to Stockton Short. Moa finished with two rushing TD’s for Weber. Reinhold had three rushing touchdowns for the Phoenix.
No. 9 Fremont 41 @ Clearfield 14
Kai Wirth ran in the first score of the game to give Clearfield the lead but Fremont answered with 41 straight points before the Falcons scored their second and final TD of the game. Cannon Kofford threw for two touchdowns. Hayden Hall had one receiving and one rushing touchdown. Jordan Chugg recorded a pick-six.
Region 2
Kearns 44 @ Taylorsville 0
Iosefa Toia’ivao threw four touchdowns and ran in two more in the win for Kearns. He found Isaac Luckart and Kapeli Smith once each and Dominic Thornton twice.
No. 20 Roy 20 @ Hunter 16
Hunter jumped out to a 16-7 lead in the first half but Roy was able to keep them scoreless in the second half while scoring 13 points. Cooper Valencia and Cole West had rushing touchdowns for Roy. Omarian Jackson had both TD’s for Hunter in the loss.
No. 15 West 21 @ Cyprus 0
West didn’t need much on the offensive end to knock off Cyprus. Karson Lopati threw two touchdown passes, both to Lava Vailahi. Zach Latu added a rushing TD in the win for the Panthers.
Non-Region
Jordan (5A) 7 @ No. 1 Corner Canyon 70
This game wasn’t ever close. Corner Canyon scored 21 points in the first quarter, 35 points in the second quarter and 14 in the third. Devin Brown threw four touchdown passes, three to Jett Meine and one to Cody Hagen.
No. 8 Timpview (5A) 24 @ No. 5 Bingham 12
The Thunderbirds went on the road and beat No. 5 Bingham who is in a higher classification. Liu Aumavae threw two touchdown passes, one to Sai Mauga and one to Pokai Haunga.
No. 25 West Jordan 52 @ Granger 24
The Jaguars pulled away after a big second quarter, scoring 18 points. Boston Farmer threw two touchdown passes, one to Octavian Heflin and Carter Baldwin. Heflin also ran in four touchdowns in the win for West Jordan. Anthony Misi had two touchdowns for Granger.
Herriman 17 @ Westlake 14
A crazy ending in this one. Herriman started the game with the lead as Jack Lounsbury found Lalo Tafisi for a touchdown. Westlake responded with a TD run by Kanyon Lee. Chanse Miller returned an interception for a touchdown for the Thunder to put them up by seven points early in the third quarter. Herriman kicked a field goal to pull within four points late in the third. No one scored until eight seconds left in the game when Michael Falatea had an 80-yard pick six to give the Mustangs the win.

No. 16 Springville (5A) 23 @ Riverton 21
The Red Devils jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first half before Riverton finally scored in the third quarter. They took the lead in the fourth quarter with another touchdown. Springville then scored two unanswered TD’s to pull away from Riverton, who managed to get a touchdown late but the comeback came up short. Ryder Burton had two passing touchdowns, finding Walker Deede and Cole Clement for Springville. Jake Myers also threw two TD’s to Sau Tafisi and Josh Jacobson.
