Rashid Shaheed Returns Kickoff Against Utes, Scores Weber State’s First TD Of Season

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Weber State wide receiver Rashid Shaheed returned a kickoff to the end zone for the Wildcats’ first touchdown of the season.
The Wildcats played against the No. 24 Utah Utes at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Thursday, September 2.
Utah kicked off after making a 23-yard field goal on its first offensive possession.
Shaheed ran the ball back 99 yards for a Weber State touchdown with 8:26 remaining in the opening quarter,

The special team’s score gave the Wildcats a 7-3 lead over the Utes.
Shortly after Shaheed’s touchdown, the game was halted and went into a lightning delay due to nearby strikes.
The Weber State receiver entered the season with a career full of kickoff returns for touchdowns. Before his season-opening score, Shaheed had returned the ball 66 times for 1,920 yards and five touchdowns during his Wildcats career.
