Damian Lillard, Ron McBride Among Inductees For 2021 Weber State Hall Of Fame Class

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Weber State Athletics announced that NBA star Damian Lillard and legendary college football coach Ron McBride were among the former Wildcats selected for the school’s 2021 Hall of Fame class.
The Wildcats announced their 2021 WSU Hall of Fame inductees on Wednesday, August 18.
In addition to Lillard and McBride, Rebecca Bennion (Track & Field), Nick Chournos (Football) and Jody Lake were chosen as the latest additions to Weber State’s Hall of Fame.
The five former Wildcats will be inducted on September 17.
Lillard is currently an NBA star for the Portland Trail Blazers. Before his time as a professional, Lillard was a standout player for the Wildcats’ men’s basketball team. He left Weber State as the program’s second-leading scorer all-time.
McBride served as the head coach of the Weber State football team from 2005-11. During his time with the program, McBride led the Wildcats to 43 wins and a Big Sky title.
Chournos was a standout running back for the Wildcats’ football team. He played at Weber State from 2001-04 and ended his career as the Wildcats’ all-time leading rusher.
Bennion was a three-time All-American and three-time Big Sky champion during her time on Weber State women’s cross country and track and field teams.
Lake worked at Weber State and the Dee Events Center for 40 years. She was at Weber State from 1980-2019 and spent more than 20 years as the director of the Dee Events Center.
