Chicago Bears Activate LS Patrick Scales From Reserve/COVID-19 List

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Chicago Bears activated long snapper and former Utah State standout Patrick Scales from the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list.
Chicago announced the transaction on Monday, August 9.
“The Bears on Monday activated tackle Elijah Wilkinson, linebacker Christian Jones and long-snapper Patrick Scales from the reserve/COVID-19 list,” the organization announced. “As a result, the trio will be able to rejoin their teammates when the Bears return to the practice field Tuesday after Monday’s day off.”
Scales was placed on the Bears’ reserve/COVID-19 list on August 3.

Players placed on a team’s reserve/COVID-19 list have either tested positive for the coronavirus disease or have been quarantined following close contact with an infected person.
Scales is about to enter his seventh season in the NFL and sixth as a member of the Bears.
Scales first entered the league in 2014 as an undrafted free agent from the Aggies. He played his rookie year with the Baltimore Ravens.
The long snapper joined the Bears in 2015.
The former Utah State player has played in all 16 regular season games for Chicago in each of the past four seasons.

Currently, Scales and the Bears are in the middle of training camp in preparation for the upcoming 2021 NFL season.
The Bears play their first preseason game against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday, August 14 at 11 a.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on the NFL Network.
Chicago opens the regular season against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, September 12 at 6:20 p.m. (MDT). The game will be televised on KSL TV.
