PROVO, Utah – The equipment department in the BYU football program has been enhanced under the direction of Billy Nixon. Another sign of the enhanced experience was on display Wednesday when BYU players received their “swag bags” at check-in day for Camp Kalani (Fall Camp) 2021.

In the past, white paper bags lined up the equipment room where players would enter to pick up their fall camp essentials. Now with Nixon at the helm, each player walked to their new locker with a black Nike duffel bag with all of the fixings to navigate another month of training camp.

- Nike flip-flops
- White turf shoes
- Black lifting shoes for the weight room
- New cleats; were already placed in each locker.
- Nike gloves
- Bucket hat
- Team-issued shorts
- Three BYU Nike short-sleeve t-shirts
- Two BYU Nike long-sleeve shirts
All of this is part of the player experience that has taken center stage in the BYU program under head coach Kalani Sitake. Sitake has emphasized this since he became the head coach to get the players as much gear as possible through their partnership with Nike.

Along with swag, players now have a new locker room, received new iPads, and now have ownership over the uniform selection process. BYU will open the 2021 season wearing a “Royal Rush” uniform with a royal blue helmet. It will be the first time since 1968 that BYU has donned a royal blue lid.
Players selected a different uniform combination for each of the 12 games they’ll be playing in this season.
BYU begins fall camp practices on Thursday, August 5th.
