Jordan Matyas, USA Rugby Improve To 3-0 In Pool Play With Win Over Australia

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former BYU standout Jordan Matyas and USA Rugby improved to a perfect 3-0 in group play with a victory over Australia.
Team USA played Australia on Thursday, July 29.
USA Rugby overcame a double-digit deficit to defeat the Australians, 14-12.
Australia owned a 7-0 lead after the first half.
Early in the second half, the Australians extended their lead to 12-0.
Team USA responded with 14 unanswered points and won the match by two points.
Abby Gustaitis, Nicole Heavirland, and Cheta Emba scored for the United States.
Matyas did not score in the win.
USA Rugby advanced to the women’s quarterfinals with the victory. The United States’ next opponent is to be determined.
