Sunisa Lee From Team USA Gymnastics Claims All-Around Gold Medal

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Sunisa Lee from the United States Gymnastics team took home the Gold Medal in the All-Around Finals on Thursday.
Sunisa Lee had a thrilling performance on the floor with a score of 13.7 to put her all-around score at 57.433, edging out Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade’s 57.298 score.
Lee was one of two members from Team USA to qualify for the all-around finals, joining Jade Carey.
The event started on the vault where Carey had the better score of the two at 15.2, while Lee recorded a 14.6. After moving to the bars, Lee posted an impressive 15.3. Carey recorded a 13.5.

Heading over to the beam, it was Lee that had another impressive performance despite nearly falling off the beam. After catching herself, she finished with a 13.833. Carey had posted a score of 11.533 after falling off of the beam during her routine.
On the floor, Carey finished strong with a score of 13.966.
