Salt Lake Bees SS Jake Gatewood Hits Grand Slam Against Rainiers

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Salt Lake Bees shortstop Jake Gatewood hit one out of the park for a Grand Slam against the Tacoma Rainiers.
The Rainiers hosted the Bees at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, Washington on Saturday, July 17.
In the top of the fifth inning, Gatewood and the Bees crushed the stitching off the ball.
With Salt Lake up 7-3, the Bees shortstop smashed a home run for a Grand Slam.

Gatewood’s homer extended Salt Lake’s lead to 11-3. It was his 16th home run of the season.
Later in the inning, Bees centerfielder Jo Adell followed suit and sent one out of the park. Adell’s homer was his 19th of the season and resulted in a three-run jack. It gave Salt Lake a 14-3 advantage.

The Bees scored 10 runnings in the top of the inning and went to the bottom of fifth inning with a 16-3 lead.
Salt Lake entered the game with a 30-32 record this season.
