Georges Niang Buries Three To Tie Career-High, Gets Technical Foul For Taunting Rockets

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz forward Georges Niang connected on a three-pointer to match his career-high in scoring before getting a technical foul for taunting the Houston Rockets.
The Jazz hosted the Rockets at Vivint Arena on Saturday, May 8.
With 11:12 remaining in the fourth quarter, Jazz guard Matt Thomas fed the ball to Niang, who was ready in the corner.
Niang rose above an incoming Houston defender, knocked down the triple, and taunted the Rockets’ bench.
The three-pointer gave Niang 24 points for the contest. That mark tied his single-game career-high in scoring.
After the shot, the Jazzman was assessed his first career technical foul.

Niang had his 24 points on 9-11 shooting and 6-8 from beyond the arc.
He added one rebound, two assists, and two steals in 20-plus minutes on the court.

This season, Niang is averaging 6.5 points per game on 42.9 percent shooting, including 41.7 percent from downtown.
