SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz announced Donovan Mitchell will miss another week with the right ankle injury that has caused him to miss the last 10 games.
Mitchell originally injured the ankle on April 16 against the Indiana Pacers and has been getting weekly evaluations since.
The Jazz are 6-4 since Mitchell’s injury, but have won four of their last five games heading into Friday night’s game against the Denver Nuggets.
Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell was re-evaluated by the team’s medical staff today for a sprained ankle he sustained vs. Indiana on April 16.
He continues to make progress towards a return and will be re-evaluated in one week.

“Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell was re-evaluated by the team’s medical staff today for a sprained ankle he sustained vs. Indiana on April 16,” the Jazz tweeted.
“He continues to make progress towards a return and will be re-evaluated in one week.”
The Jazz have six games remaining in the regular season, four of which will be played before Mitchell is set to be re-evaluated next Friday.
The team then travels to complete the season on the road in Oklahoma City and Sacramento before the playoffs begin on May 22. If the guard is cleared before the Jazz road trip, he could have two games left to regain his rhythm before the postseason begins.
If not, the Jazz could be faced with the idea of trying to re-incorporate Mitchell as the playoffs begin.
However, with more than two weeks remaining before the beginning of the playoffs, the Jazz could opt to hold Mitchell out, preferring to give Mitchell as much possible time off to rest the ankle before their first-round series.
Mitchell was in the midst of a career year for the Jazz before the ankle injury. The guard was averaging a personal best 26.4 points, 5.2 assists, and 4.6 rebounds for the Jazz while shooting 43 percent from the floor and 38 percent from the three-point line.
