Zach Wilson Wears Unofficial No. 2 Jersey, Throws During First Day Of Jets Minicamp
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former BYU quarterback Zach Wilson rocked an unofficial No. 2 jersey and threw during the opening day of the New York Jets’ rookie minicamp.
The Jets opened their minicamp on Friday, May 7.
New York is one of the first teams to start their minicamp this offseason.
The Jets are holding the minicamp at the organization’s facilities in Florham Park, New Jersey.
Rookie minicamps typically consist of film study and on-field work.
Wilson, who was selected by New York with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft on April 29, wore a No. 2 red jersey during his first day of workouts with the Jets.
His jersey number was unofficial and subject to change. Wilson sported No. 11 during freshman season at BYU and No. 1 during his final two years with the Cougars.
During the first day of practice, Wilson participated in warmup stretches and drills.
He also worked on his footwork and throwing with some of the Jets’ coaches.
Wilson was also seen throwing passes to New York’s first pick of the second round, former Ole Miss WR Elijah Moore.
Wilson was one of 10 players selected by the Jets during the 2021 NFL Draft.
The 11 players, as well as undrafted free agent signees, will continue to participate in the rookie minicamp that runs through May 10.
