SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former BYU and rookie NFL quarterback Zach Wilson said he’s “pumped” about landing with the New York Jets as the team prepares for rookie minicamp.
The Jets selected Wilson with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft on April 29.
After arriving at the Jets’ facilities for the first time, Wilson said he was excited to have landed with New York.
“I’m pumped, not a better place to do it,” Wilson told Jets reporter Eric Allen.
The Jets are one of the first teams to begin their minicamp this offseason. The Las Vegas Raiders and Indianapolis Colts are the other organizations to hold minicamp between May 7-10.
New York will hold its rookie minicamp at the organization’s facilities in Florham Park, New Jersey.
It will be the league’s first minicamps since the 2019 offseason. Last season, the offseason events were canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Rookie minicamps typically consist of film study and on-field work.
The Jets are one of 3 teams with a rookie minicamp this weekend. We will have media access tomorrow and Saturday. It’ll be good to be in Florham Park. It’s been a while. #Jets
