The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Select Former BYU DB Chris Wilcox During Seventh Round Of 2021 NFL Draft

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected former BYU defensive back Chris Wilcox with the No. 251 overall pick during the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

The seventh round of the NFL Draft took place in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, May 1.

Wilcox, a native of Fontana, California, played at BYU from 2016-20.

As a freshman, Wilcox had nine total tackles and eight solo tackles in 10 games.

During his second season in Provo, Wilcox had 32 total tackles, 23 solo tackles, one tackle for loss, and five pass breakups in 10 games.

In his junior year, Wilcox had 28 total tackles, 24 solo tackles, two tackles for loss, and two pass breakups in nine games.

Wilcox had one tackle in one game during a redshirt season in 2019.

As a senior in 2020, Wilcox had 18 total tackles, 12 solo tackles, and one pass breakup in nine games.

Wilcox helped BYU to an 11-1 record in his final season with the Cougars.
