SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt Lake has turned the once “Real Salt Lake” white seats on the east side of the stadium blue, the club announced today. The color change is to further enhance the broadcast production and assist in the display of virtual graphics for television viewers.

Wear Blue, Not White.

Due to the change, the club asks all spectators on the east side of the stadium to refrain from wearing the color white. If fans show up to the game in a white shirt the club will provide them with a free blue shirt to wear over the top.

The news sparked an immediate reaction on social media with fans now consolidating with one and another to show up to the stadium in white so they can receive a free blue RSL shirt in return.

Incoming Sporting Kansas City

RSL is preparing to host Sporting Kansas City in the home opener this upcoming Saturday, May 1, with kickoff scheduled for noon.

The club returns home following a 2-1 upset win at Minnesota United last weekend. While Sporting Kansas City, who has played two games, has one win and one draw respectively. Their only victory coming on the road in the opening week against the New York Red Bulls.

This weekend, 10,000 fans will trickle into Rio Tinto Stadium to watch their beloved club. Many of whom have not seen live sport in over a year. A few weeks ago, the club announced the increase in attendance and hopes to further increase the number as the months go by. However, that decision will ultimately come down to the CDC and the state of Covid-19 in Utah.

Every RSL match can be streamed for free by downloading the KSL 5 TV App or on KSLSports.com.
