Weber State LB Conner Mortensen Named Big Sky Defensive Player Of The Week

OGDEN, Utah – Weber State linebacker Conner Mortensen was named Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week after his performance against UC Davis on Saturday.
Conner Mortensen racked up a team-high 11 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss and a pass breakup as Weber State beat UC Davis 18-13 on Saturday at Stewart Stadium.
It’s the second week this season that a Weber State player received Big Sky weekly honors. Quarterback Bronson Barron was named Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week in their season opening win over Idaho State.

Through two games this season, Mortensen leads the Wildcats with 18 tackles. The senior is one of the team captains for Jay Hill’s team. For his career, Mortensen has 152 career tackles and 14.5 tackles for loss in 40 games played.
Weber State is 2-0 on the season after winning their ninth straight home game. They will have a bye this week before taking on Northern Arizona on Saturday, March 27 at Stewart Stadium. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. MT on KJZZ, Pluto TV channel 1054 and 103.1 FM “The Wave.”
