PROVO, Utah – The buzz around former BYU football quarterback Zach Wilson continues to grow. One of the hottest prospects leading up to the 2021 NFL draft, Wilson and BYU will get the national spotlight at their annual Pro Day.
NFL Network will have coverage of BYU’s Pro Day on Friday, March 26, as part of the network’s Path to the Draft Pro Day Special coverage beginning at 11 a.m. (MT). The two-hour show will feature coverage and analysis of BYU’s Pro Day, along with Michigan and Virginia Tech’s Pro Days.
NFL Network’s top draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah will host along with Rhett Lewis.
BYU is one of 19 programs featured in the NFL Network’s Pro Day coverage, beginning March 11 and concluding on March 31.
Zach Wilson: Path to the NFL Draft
Zach Wilson has the potential to become the highest draft pick in the history of the BYU football program. The previous high was pick number five when Jim McMahon was selected by the Chicago Bears in 1982 and Ziggy Ansah to the Detroit Lions in 2013.
Wilson is the favorite to go number two overall to the New York Jets in April’s draft, which will take place in Cleveland, Ohio.

Last season, Zach Wilson had a meteoric rise on draft boards as he passed for 3,692 yards, 33 touchdowns, and completed nearly 74 percent of his passes as he led BYU to their best final AP ranking since 1996 (No. 11). The memorable junior season led to Wilson foregoing his senior year at BYU.
The intrigue around BYU in the NFL draft doesn’t just end with Zach Wilson. BYU sent six players to the NFL Combine this year, tied for the second-most in program history. Offensive tackle Brady Christensen was a consensus All-American in 2020 protecting Zach Wilson’s blindside. Wilson’s top target in the passing game, Dax Milne, is an intriguing prospect who displays strong hands as a receiver.
Tight end Matt Bushman was once viewed as BYU’s top NFL draft prospect coming into the 2020 season. After suffering a season-ending Achilles injury a season ago, Bushman will look to elevate his draft stock once again.

Defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga has a rare blend of size and speed for a 0-tech nose tackle. Tonga is currently at 317 pounds and has been clocked in the past at sub 5.0 40-times. Cornerback Chris Wilcox has the measurables (6-2, 195) that NFL franchises look for at cornerback when trying to stop pass-happy offenses.
Others who are expected to compete in BYU’s Pro Day include safeties Troy Warner and Zayne Anderson, offensive lineman Tristen Hoge, defensive linemen Zac Dawe and Bracken El-Bakri.
