Tony Finau Remains Bogey Free In Saudi Arabia Entering Weekend

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Tony Finau was four-under-par through 16 holes during the second round in Saudi Arabia before the day was called off due to poor light. He will return to the golf course to resume his remaining two holes at 9:30 p.m. this evening.
When the horn blew signifying an end the second day, Finau was on the 17th green and will return to face a 25-foot putt for birdie.
Finau sits in a tie for 12th with two holes remaining in the second round, he will make the cut and play on the weekend.
Fortunately, Finau found his recent form on the second day, doubling the number of birdies than he had on day one. Remarkably, Finau is yet to record anything worse than a par through 36 holes of golf. He has gone bogey-free thus far.
Play suspended for bad light.
Round 2 will re-start at 07.30 Saturday morning.
Round 3 will be a two-tee start, U-draw, and will not start before 10.00 local time.#SaudiIntlGolf pic.twitter.com/3O6zP94AMZ

The birdies for Finau came on the par 4 7th and 13th holes, he was also able to take advantage of the par 3’s birdieing the 11th and 16th. The golf course only holds two par 5’s and so far Finau has not been able to take advantage of his length as he has parred every par 5 so far.
Finau sits four shots behind the leaders Ryan Fox and Stephen Gallacher who find themselves at ten-under-par. Gallacher still has six holes remaining in his second round and will likely be the lone leader following the second round.
Finau has never won on the European Tour and only has one PGA Tour victory. His lone win came in 2016 when he secured the Puerto Rico Open. Since then, Finau has been in contention to pick up his second career victory but has failed on multiple occasions down the stretch.
The pressure is growing on Finau to showcase his ability to win on Tour. In his past two tournaments, he was in contention and in the final groupings but was unable to shoot a low enough score to win.
