BYU Basketball’s Upcoming Home Game Against San Francisco Postponed

PROVO, Utah – Just when the BYU basketball schedule was starting to get into a rhythm another pause is taking place.
The University of San Francisco men’s basketball program announced on Tuesday that they are pausing team activities due to positive cases from COVID-19 testing and related contact tracing. USF’s next three games are postponed, which includes Saturday’s game against BYU at the Marriott Center on January 30th.

This is the fourth game that has been postponed on BYU’s WCC schedule this season. All of the games that have been postponed have been due to the opponent. The previous three postponements have all been rescheduled for upcoming dates.
WCC has utilized weekdays such as Tuesday and Wednesday to reschedule games when working with television partners. Saturday’s game between BYU and San Francisco was scheduled to be televised on CBS Sports Network.
Possible option to reschedule BYU Basketball game against USF
From Friday, February 19th to February 25th, the Dons only have one game scheduled. That one game is a road trip to Saint Mary’s on the 25th. BYU plays a Saturday, February 20th game on the road at LMU, but the early weekday dates in the following week are open.
BYU defeated San Francisco when the two programs met in the first matchup this season on January 16th. The Cougars edged out the Dons 72-63 and to this point of the season, has been one of BYU’s best road wins.
USF has already played eight conference games. The next closest in the WCC is Portland at seven. Everyone else has played six conference games or fewer. BYU has played five and currently has a 4-1 league record.
The Cougars will play their sixth league game on Wednesday at Malibu in a rescheduled game against Pepperdine.
