SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Utah running back Jordan Wilmore announced that he will transfer to the Fresno State football program.
Jordan Wilmore entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on December 14 after two seasons with Utah, he will now go to Fresno State.
Wilmore announced his decision to join the Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon, saying “let’s get it,” on Twitter.

Wilmore will be playing closer to home as Fresno is a 3-hour and 22 minute drive north from his hometown in Lawndale, California. In 2019, he ran the ball 49 times for 194 yards and one touchdown. This season, Wilmore had 18 carries for 54 yards in two games. He entered the portal five days before Utah’s regular season finale against Washington State.
This decision comes after Devin Brumfield put his name into the portal. The emergence of true freshman Ty Jordan has led to less carries for Wilmore and Brumfield.
Wilmore was a last minute recruit for the Utes after originally committing to USC, then decommitting and almost signing with Arizona State before joining the Utes.
When Wilmore entered the portal, he said the following on Twitter.
“Utah man what a ride it was,” Wilmore wrote. “I enjoyed my experience here. The relationships that I made here will be with me forever. To all the coaches there I appreciate you. Coach Whitt thank you for giving me the opportunity to come to this university. Coach Mac and Shah I appreciate ya’ll for everything ya’ll what it is is. But after speaking with my family I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal to continue my academic and athletic career. Utah I’ll forever be grateful for the opportunity.”
Two other running backs entered the portal during the season. T.J. Green entered during camp and will play for Liberty. Devin Brumfield is heading closer to home as well, playing for Tulane.
After the tragic passing of Jordan on Christmas night, the Utes picked up a couple of running backs in the transfer portal with Oklahoma’s T.J. Pledger and LSU’s Chris Curry joining the Utes.
