Jones, Knight III Lead Southern Utah In Bounce Back Win Over Eastern Washington

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Southern Utah guards Tevian Jones and John Knight III helped the Thunderbirds avenge an earlier loss to Eastern Washington with a five-point win on Saturday.
The Eagles hosted the Thunderbirds at Reese Court in Cheney, Washington on Saturday, January 16.
On January 14, Eastern Washington snapped SUU’s nine-game win streak with a 75-62 win.
Jones and Knight combined for 48 points and helped the T-Birds get revenge with a 99-94 victory on Saturday.

It was Southern Utah’s first win in Cheney since 1992.
The two guards coalesced to shot 14-24 on field goals, including 3-5 from three-pointer range.

Jones led Southern Utah with 27 points, four rebounds, and one assist.
Knight scored 21 points.

For the game, SUU shot 56.1 percent overall, including 41.7 percent from distance.
The Thunderbirds held the Eagles to 42.9 percent from the field.
Jacob Davison led Eastern Washington with a game-high 31 points.
Final. Eastern Washington makes 19 three-pointers and three-players score 20+ points, but the Eagles fall to Southern Utah in a game that saw 15 lead changes and 10 ties.

With the win, the Thunderbirds improved to 10-2 on the season and 5-1 in Big Sky games.
