Tevian Jones’ Big Game Leads Southern Utah Past Idaho

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Southern Utah guard Tevian Jones helped lead the Thunderbirds to a win over Idaho in the second game of a back-to-back with the Vandals.
SUU hosted Idaho on Saturday, January 9.
After beating the Vandals, 85-80, on January 7, Jones and the T-Birds flew past Idaho once again.
Jones was 9/17 shooting for 30 points in Southern Utah’s 83-67 win on Saturday.

It was the ninth consecutive victory for the Thunderbirds.
The SUU guard shot 6-11 on three-pointers and 6-6 from the charity stripe.
In addition to his scoring, Jones had four rebounds and an assist.

He was one of four Southern Utah players to score in double figures against Idaho.
The Thunderbirds finished the contest shooting 47.3 percent from the field, including 38.5 percent on triples.

Idaho shot 52.9 percent overall but only 14.3 percent from beyond the arc.
The Vandals were led by Damen Thacker’s 16 points.
With the win, SUU improved to 9-1 on the season and 4-0 in conference games.
